I began my journey with woodwind over 30 years ago, starting as most do with the recorder and quickly progressing to flute then saxophone and clarinet. During that time, I’ve had the privilege to be taught by some highly esteemed teachers and performers, including James Gallway, Lisa Nelsen and Dean Stallard to name a few. I also spent time playing and touring with Charnwood WindBand. I have a degree from the University of Chichester in music performance and instrumental teaching where I spent time training how to teach both one to one and in groups.
Since graduating I have gained over 15 years experience teaching in a variety of settings. I work within schools, doing music groups and clubs, running orchestras and wind bands, within the academy offering music tuition to all ages from 4 to 94!
I have a particular love of music theory, and enjoys helping people work towards the sometimes essential grade 5 and beyond! I always endeavours to make music fun and relaxed and just a little bit of silly!
